Somewhere in the world, one person will die in a work-related accident every 15 seconds. 153 others will be injured while performing their professional duties (ILO). TenSquared was created as a response to this distressing reality.

Through TenSquared, teams of workers and managers find innovative solutions to challenges in the workplace. Teams are encouraged to move past existing power dynamics to translate their shared interests into bold action—all in 100 days.

Created by SAI and the Rapid Results Institute in partnership with The Walt Disney Company, TenSquared has generated extraordinary results around the world and continues to lead the way in innovative capacity building for social compliance.

Impact and Results

TenSquared has directly benefited more than 38,000 workers in over 40 companies and 15 industries in Brazil, China, and Turkey. 93% of all TenSquared teams achieve their ambitious goal within 100 days, many surpassing their original targets. Some examples of the program's impact include:

  • 40% decrease in absenteeism from assembly line injury, saving a Brazilian company $120,000 each year.
  • Emergency evacuation time reduced from 12 to 3 minutes in a Chinese company.
  • 100% of fire risks eliminated in a Turkish facility.
  • Direct skin contact with hazardous chemicals fully eliminated in a Chinese factory.

"One day a worker wanted to talk to our TenSquared team in person. He wanted to thank us for our efforts during the project and told us that for the first time he was asked for his opinion in the workplace. This was a big lesson for us as a team—we asked ourselves: Why have we waited until today to be asking workers for their input?” – Manager in a TenSquared project in Turkey

"The physical effort [for workers] was reduced significantly [due to the project]. This was one of the most rewarding results for me."  Worker in a TenSquared project in Brazil

“Now, employees will go to management and let them know when there are problems. The culture has changed, employees are more aware of health and safety, absenteeism is lower, and accidents are fewer.” – Manager in a TenSquared project in Turkey
