Timothy H. Bishop | Board of Directors  

Timothy H. Bishop is a former U.S. Representative for New York’s 1st congressional district. He served in the House of Representatives for six consecutive terms from 2003 to 2015. 

In the Congress, Rep. Bishop focused on job creation, protecting middle-class families and seniors, controlling spending, strengthening education, advocating for veterans, homeland security, fiscal responsibility, and safeguarding the environment. As a member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee, Rep. Bishop continued his lifelong mission to increase the affordability of education for all Americans.

From 1973 to 2002 Bishop was employed by Southampton College of Long Island University in a succession of increasingly responsible administrative positions. For the last 16 years of his tenure, Bishop was the chief executive officer of the campus, supervising all administrative offices and coordinating academic leadership with the Dean for Academic Affairs.

Bishop holds a bachelor’s degree in History from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and a master’s degree in Public Administration from C.W. Post College of LIU in Brookville, NY.
